Care For The Caregiver

Compassion Fatigue is a set of symptoms and outward signs experienced as stress consequences from providing ongoing care to others. This can be care provided to patients, clients, children, parents, staff, animals, or any loved ones. Anyone in a caregiver role is susceptible to experience some aspect of Compassion/Caregiver Fatigue.

This course is designed to help caregivers understand and identify common triggers, symptoms, and causes of Compassion Fatigue. It will also educate on effective ways to relieve caregiver stress when symptoms are already present and to recognize and prevent chronic stress going forward.

Along with education, history, and signs/causes identification, the course incorporates self-care activities and exercises for both practice and relief. Students will be guided to engage in exercises that provide personal insight and encouraged to create an attainable daily self-care plan that aligns with their lifestyle.
